Working through some research, getting back into reading mode after finishing the BA, not much time to relax though as I’m preparing to move down to Bristol to join the MA course at UWE.

I picked up this Walker Evans book a couple days after submitting my final assignment, call it a well done treat to myself. Sold for a pretty cheap price and I thought there was definitely space for some more poor reproductions of Evan’s work on my shelf.
This book is inherently strange in form, it’s a 3rd edition from 1979, and contains a vast selection of plates from 1929-1970,
(also including a series of repeated pages due to some kind of printing/binding error?) most of which are well known images from Let us now praise famous men, and American Photographs. so, I wasn’t expecting to notice anything new.
While pacing the pages though I did notice a scene I recognised from another book, but couldn’t place it.
After some time I realised it was an Alec Soth Photograph @littlebrownmushroom , taken in the same location (Bethlehem, Pennsylvania).
I’m sure this was a purposeful nod to Evans’s work from Soth, but acted as a nice memory tester for me this morning.

Thank you to everyone who came down for the final night of the show, sorry if I didn’t get chance to speak much to everyone it was very busy !

Feels pretty crazy that my three years is over. I honestly think the majority of my time on campus was spent in the darkroom.
Ironically I’m writing this now as I do my final print session before I’m kicked out :).

Decided to show off some other works in this box other than my silver printing and decided on some handmade inkjet prints on 300gsm textured paper.

This heavy weighted stuff did not like going through my epson.

Inside is a collection of some of my best and most favourite works.
The chair with apples has always been a heavy hitter.
16 prints a4 size from a range of projects.

Perfect bound, with black thread stitching for stability.
Black cloth cover.
Small fibre based Silver gelatin print for the front.
Inkjet on recycled, and tracing papers.

Very happy with how this turned out it took a lot of time and effort, the amount of times I messed up the perfect bind, and had to start over was painful.
